Rav Benjamin Goldberg
Beth El Synagogue welcomes Benjamin Goldberg as student Rabbi for
the upcoming year. Ben Goldberg is becoming a Rabbi because the most
powerful experiences in his life were Jewish ones, and he wants to help
others experience that power.
Ben is a rising fifth year student in the rabbinical school at the Jewish
Theological Seminary in New York.
This year he will serve as the Rabbi of Beth El Synagogue in Woodbury,
CT. Last year Ben served as the rabbinic intern at Rutgers Hillel and also
at Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains, NJ. Before enrolling at JTS,
he studied for a year at the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Originally
from the Philadelphia suburbs, Ben graduated from Northwestern
University in 2012 with a degree in History and Jewish Studies, where he
was also the president of Hillel. When Ben visited our synagogue 2
months ago, members were enthusiastic and enjoyed participating in the
services he led.

had a unique ability to immediately engage our religious school students
in Jewish learning activities.
